This marks the last performance
(which I hope its not and more to come in the future)
of me with
Eugene Ooi, Lynette Lim and Arsene Saw.
It was an honorable pleasure to have the chance to perform with you guys!!
Along with
Zhen Yao and
Fui Fui 秋慧. The sparks are always there whenever I'm performing with you guys !!!
I did not join nor involve with the preparation of The Story Alley from the very beginning, it was Yi Jing who messaged in Facebook, and told me about it. I remembered Ah Boey (An Qi) did told me about it as well, and it was her who led me to KONKOS, where they were like auditioning the programs that are gonna be included into the performances of The Story Alley.
I met Eugene and Lynette there. They were holding their entry form for their performance, I sat down and ask them what am I getting myself into, and they filled me in with the theme description of The Story Alley. As I took out my guitar and we played and sing some songs, we thought of forming a performance together by singing some famous english and chinese pop songs back in the 90s. And voila, we are formed! Arsene joined along as part of the performance.
Through endless headache moments of picking songs and linking each songs with each other, trying to bear a reason why this song should be linked with that song, changes of genres, dynamics and everything else, we finally came out with a medley that is balanced between both the dynamics and the linkage of the songs, where it won't bored out the audience, while we enjoyed it with our utmost passion.
Though I am not there to witness EVERY process of preparations made for The Story Alley, I could imagine the hard work, passion and commitment that each and every committee members and performers poured into. From the preparations of backdrop and its design, to the setup of microphones, props design and placement, understanding of the layout of stage lighting systems and sound systems, coordinations between performance, lightning and sound system, and most importantly, breaking the barrier between each other in order to communicate better and for the good of The Story Alley. To me it is totally imaginable as I've involved in the preparation of the concert of The Wanderers.
The process is astonishing, and it marks the end of another meaningful journey on the 12th of March, 2011.
I will try to mention most people's name right here, most, if not all.
Eugene, Arsene, Lynette - knowing that you guys are graduating soon, and it is, at my utmost sincerity, to thank you all for performing with me. I had great fun practicing and performing with you guys. Eugene maybe the largest influence, but 3 of you influenced me and 'unlocked' the restrictions I had while performing on stage. Improvements made on myself because of you guys. I sincerely hope that this is not our last performance. It may be the last one in USM, but one of our performance in many more to come in the future.
Chiew Fui & Zhen Yao - We were once again performing on the stage of DSP, together. The sparks are ALWAYS there whenever we perform together :) And I do looking forward to our performances to come in the future. And of course its mostly because we've been through the preparations of Wanderers' concert like no other, love you guys!!!
Ah Pao - Great job on coordinating everything... you did a really great job!! And it is really nice to have known you!!

Kah Yiing - aiyoyo 这位同学, thank you for accompanying me and willing to chat nonsense with me through my short short moment of weakness hehe. I'm still waiting for our dinner!
Caryn Leong Jen Wey - sorry for not picking up your calls or reply your messages at times, because it is always so 'ngam' that whenever u called me text me my phone wasn't with me!!! I don't mean to ignore u!! Thank you for giving me a lot of supports, and yes, the makeup as well. You did great!! :)

Jit Xiong &
Chun Sheng - The control of the sound systems is a thing that I always worried whenever I'm performing somewhere, but not when you guys are the ones that handle the systems. Credits to you guys for the coordinations and everything else. Great job!!!!
Lee-san aka 副吟长 - Thank you for your support, and your treat on the eve of The Story Alley, and also your reminder of sleeping at 10pm. You looked decent in that sarung (though I know how much you hated it), and especially your hair! :) Awesome Possum! >
